Keetch Welcomes Proposed Residents Parking Scheme12.00.00am GMT Mon 8th Oct 2001 Paul Keetch, Hereford's Liberal Democrat MP, today attended a meeting with residents of Link Road, Hopton Road and the surrounding area, John Colyer (Transportation Manager of Herefordshire Council), PC Martin Hallam (Traffic Management Officer) and local Councillor Colin Rumsey. Paul met with the residents to discuss the prospect of resident parking being introduced. Mr. Colyer explained that Herefordshire Council has undertaken some consultation and showed where yellow lines and limits on parking would be placed. Mr. Keetch welcomed this news be saying "There is obviously a problem in this area with non-residents parking and blocking the road, I am glad that the Council has drawn up plans and is continuing consultation." He further said "I am aware of other areas in the City that have similar problems and am working with the Council to reduced the problem elsewhere too." The residents had a chance to question Mr. Keetch, local Councillor Colin Rumsey and the representatives of the Council and the Police.
