MP OPENS NEW MUCH BIRCH NURSERY FACILITY9.00.00am GMT Mon 27th Oct 2003
A new nursery and after-school care facility in the grounds of Much Birch Primary School has been opened by local MP Paul Keetch. The "Cabin Crew" centre, which is based in a new Scandinavian designed timber cabin, will offer a unique natural environment in which children can work and play. "I was delighted to be asked to open this new facility," the MP said after the launch ceremony on Friday the 24th of October. "It is very important to have these sort of facilities available to help look after and educate young children, and the Cabin itself is a great structure that the children will really enjoy." The Cabin, which is managed by the Farm Childcare Group, is made from carefully selected, kiln-dried Baltic spruce and pine and is built in Estonia. The proprietor is Madelaine Roberts, who has a degree in Education and is a former Childcare Development officer and Ofsted Inspector. "The opening went very well," she commented. "Everyone was impressed with the new building, which really is a wonderful environment to work in - the children have settled in already. The launch was well attended and enjoyed by parents, governors, the MP and the children alike."
