Paul Keetch meets parents and staff at Walford Primary School

Hereford's MP, Paul Keetch, has recently visited Walford Primary School where he met with the Head Teacher and concerned parents to discuss the possibility of introducing a reduced speed limit on the road adjacent to the school.

"The current speed limit of 40 mph is unacceptable at this busy part of the road where children are walking to school and others are being dropped off by car," said the MP.

"I, together with representatives from the school and Parish Council, would like to see the speed limit here reduced to 20 mph and, under the Safer Routes to School Initiative, believe speed bumps could also be used here to achieve this."

Herefordshire Council has previously indicated that there are no plans to implement a lower speed restriction on this road and Paul Keetch will be writing to the Council to ask that this decision is reconsidered.
