KEETCH IN TALKS WITH AMBULANCE TRUST OVER ROSS STATION

3.03.23pm GMT Wed 19th Oct 2005

Paul Keetch, Member of Parliament for Hereford has today met with the Chief Executive of Hereford and Worcester Ambulance Trust to discuss the closure of Ross-on-Wye Ambulance Station.

Commenting Mr Keetch said,

"I have been reassured by the Chief Executive that despite the closure of Ross ambulance station, there is a possibility that ambulances could be permanently stationed at the Ross Community Hospital.

"It is clear that Hereford and Worcester Ambulance Trust are looking to close the buildings not the service they provide to the people of county. It is very much an issue of bricks and mortar not a reduction in service.

"I shall be writing to Hereford Primary Care Trust to make sure the proposals at Ross Community Hospital are carefully considered," Mr Keetch added.
