Hereford Balti in Hereford has been Highly Commended, for the Tilda Tiffin Cup festival of curry. The final will take place on the 9th July 2008 in the House of Commons. Hereford Balti was nominated by local MP Paul Keetch.

Paul Keetch MP said:

"I am delighted Hereford Balti has been Highly Commended. I know that local people will want to join me in congratulating them".

The competition was established in 2006 by MP's Michael Fabricant, John Barrett and Keith Vaz and is now in its third year. The Tilda Tiffin encourages the participation of as many constituencies as possible to celebrate the diversity of British Culture and food. The money raised through ticket sales for the final 'cook off' will be donated to two very worthy charities.

Keith Vaz MP said:

"Congratulation to Hereford Balti for making the final. They are clearly the best restaurant in the region. I wish them the best of luck for the final".

This year the competition will raise funds for: Friends in Village Development Bangladesh, whose aim it is to contribute towards educational and socio-economic empowerment of disadvantaged people in rural Bangladesh, and also the breast cancer charity ROKO Cancer.
